Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc.
FELLOWSHIP
Dr. Carroll A. Baltimore, Sr.
President
Rev. Kip B. Banks, Sr.
Interim General Secretary
Departments of the PNBC
The Convention is well organized to function smoothly and effectively. There are various departments: Women, Laymen, Health Care Ministries, Young Adult Women, Missions, Young Adult Men, Ushers, Youth, State Presidents, Moderators' and Congress of Christian Education. These departments are empowered to establish units, commissions and committees to harmoniously and enthusiastically promote the objectives of the Convention. Progressive National Baptist Women strongly advocate and support International Missions Ministries, Christian Education and Civil Rights among their many programmatic commitments. Progressive National Baptist Laymen are champions in evangelistic outreach as well as in the reconstruction and furnishing of the Convention's National Headquarters in Washington, D.C. The Young Adult Women and the Young Adult Men also provide training and community service opportunities to advance the work of the Convention.
The Ushers and Health Care Unit are training and organizing service personnel and units across the nation. The Progressive Youth Department provides a vital context in which young people will be challenged, involved and inspired to preserve the Progressive heritage and to advance the work and witness of the Convention.
The Moderators' Department exists to coordinate and consolidate the worthy endeavors of all Progressive constitutive bodies and affiliates. The Congress of Christian Education exists to promote the education mission of Progressive churches by strengthening the church school, training church leaders and equipping the laity for a lifetime of fruitful services to humanity.
Progressives believe that there can be no liberation without education. The truth will make us free!

From VICE PRESIDENT MICHAEL JOHNSON, LAYMEN’S DEPT.:
The joy of the Lord is my strength! I pray all is well with the people of God. Just wanted to update and inform you about the adjustments to the registration form and our departmental collaboration with Dr. Coleman and the Commission on Social Justice and Prison Ministry.
As you know, Dr. Frederick Haynes was originally the keynote speaker for our joint luncheon on Thursday August the 8th. But he incurred a scheduling conflict. So the Lord showed favor on us by allowing Dr. Jeremiah Wright to be available to share his prophetic voice with us on that day. A week later, Dr.Haynes’ schedule opened up but we had already filled it. He still wanted to participate. Not wanting to lose the opportunity to hear both of these powerful men of God who stand for justice and social equality, the joint idea would be to have a convention opening luncheon on Tuesday August the 6th.
The cost of the luncheon is an additional $50. For the sake of some of your own personal budgets, this luncheon is optional and will be displayed on the form. I pray that you can support it.
All inclusive registration form: When you pay your $50 luncheon fee on the form, that secures your ticket for the joint luncheon on Thursday August the 8th. The original total of $150 for all inclusive has been recalculated to show $125. It's because of the removal of the missions contribution. If you have already purchased a lapel pin, this can reduce your cost. More to come. Let's get registered.
Hotel registrations can now be secured through the PNBC website. I'm prayerfully confident that many of you will make your way to the 'Big D'
If you still have not ordered your lapel pins, please contact Rev. Caldwell - contact information is: (816) 363-5533 hm or (816) 520-1594 cell
