Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ.  I am excited about our working together to prepare our beloved convention for a new level of excellence in the years ahead.  Our 2010-2011 theme is: “Securing Our Future: Humility-A People of Fellowship” (2 Chronicles 7:14; Isaiah 62:10; Nehemiah 4:6, 19-20; Psalms 119:57-60; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:42-47).  Securing our future requires commitment, dedication, and passion.  It is important that we start this journey together.  We need to better understand the governance of our convention, and the overarching goals during my tenure.  All of you play an important role in helping us to realize a new paradigm for PNBC’s principles of fellowship, progress, service, and peace.

My expectation is that all PNBC leaders will participate in our Progressive National Baptist Convention Leadership Summit to better facilitate your preparation for the leadership tasks that you have graciously accepted.  We will have stimulating dialogue, formalize additional goals and objectives, and strategically chart the course of our convention for progressive movement.  This year’s Leadership Summit will be held:

October 11-13, 2010
Four Points Sheraton BWI Airport Hotel
7032 Elm Road
Baltimore, MD 21240                                                                                                         1-800-368-7764

Hotel rates are just $100.00 per night, single or double, plus 12% state and local taxes.  Please make your reservations as soon as possible at the above phone number.  If you fly into BWI Airport, there is a free shuttle service 24 hours a day to the hotel.  Southwest Airlines offers great airfares regularly.  The Amtrak train also comes into the airport and you can easily get to the hotel from the train station.  I encourage you to check in on Sunday evening as we will begin the summit promptly at 9:00 am on Monday morning.  We will end the summit at noon on Wednesday.  You will receive complimentary breakfast and lunch daily, and one complimentary dinner.  You may bring your officers and others interested in future leadership roles.  Please return the enclosed registration form as soon as possible, but no later October 1, 2010, for each person who will be attending. (To download the registration form, click here now).  If you have further questions concerning the Summit, please call headquarters at 202-396-0558.

I look forward to seeing all of our PNBC leadership, and ask that you begin to pray now for the success of our PNBC Summit.  My prayer is that it will be meaningful for all.

Yours for Souls,
Dr. Carroll A. Baltimore, Sr., President
Progressive National Baptist Convention, Incorporated
