POSITION 

Greater Middle Baptist Church of Memphis, Tennessee is seeking a full-time senior pastor called by God to serve as the spiritual leader of the congregation. The senior pastor’s responsibility is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, teach the Bible, provide Christian leadership, and engage in pastoral care for the congregation.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Candidates must be filled with and led by the Holy Spirit. Candidates’ personal character and financial standing must be above reproach both inside and outside the church. Candidates must possess at least a Master of Divinity degree from an accredited theological seminary and at least five (5) years of senior level pastoral experience or five (5) years of significant related ministry experience that includes experience in church administration (e.g., Assistant Pastor, Executive Pastor, Associate Minister, Youth Minister, or ministry leader). Candidates must also be licensed and ordained in the Baptist church.

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:

the ability to prepare and deliver biblically sound, inspirational, and Spirit-filled sermons;

the ability to provide Bible-based teaching;

strong interpersonal skills;

accessibility and sensitivity to the needs of all demographics within the congregation;

a vision for growing church membership that is rooted in the Word of God;

a commitment to and experience with increasing the numbers and spiritual development of youth and young adults in the congregation;

a commitment to Christian education, missions and evangelism;

an openness to new ideas;

proficiency in the use of technology; and

a proven record as a skilled administrator and manger of church staff and programs.

Required Documents 

All interested and qualified persons must submit an initial candidate package consisting of four (4) copies of the following information:

1. A current resume that includes a summary of relevant ministry, professional, and educational experience.

2. Copies of ministerial license and ordination certificate.

3. Copies of degree(s).

4. Three (3) recommendation letters (clergy (1), layperson (1), and personal (1)).

PASTORAL SEARCH ANNOUNCEMENT

The Beulah Baptist Church is currently accepting resumes for the position of Pastor for its family-oriented congregation of 130-150 members.  Beulah Baptist Church was established 95 years ago, in 1917, as an expression of love to God and out of denominational heritage.


ABOUT THE POSITION

Beulah Baptist Church of Steelton, Pennsylvania seeks a pastor who emulates the characteristics of a leader as described  in 1 Peter 5:1-4  and 1 Timothy 4:11-16 by modeling the lifestyle of a fully devoted follower of Christ; and is ready to work diligently to equip the people of God as dictated by Ephesians 4:11-13.  These qualities will abide in the Candidate’s ministry, personal life and family relationships.


QUALIFICATIONS

The Beulah Baptist Church is seeking a full-time pastor, an ordained minister called by God to lead God’s people.  The applicant must be knowledgeable and ordained on the Baptist Doctrine, possess a minimum of a Master of Divinity degree from an accredited theological seminary, college, or university and have five years of progressive pastoral/leadership experience.  Strong candidates will have a minimum of a Master of Divinity Degree or related discipline from an accredited theological seminary, college or university and five years of pastoral (pastor, assistant pastor or associate pastor) experience.  The candidate’s personal character must be above reproach within and outside the church.  The candidate must have proven ability to prepare and deliver stimulating and inspirational sermons and a demonstrated aptness for Bible-based teaching.  The candidate must also possess high interpersonal skills, have strong communication skills – both oral and written, have skilled counseling ability, possess strong organizational and leadership abilities and have the ability to delegate responsibility.  The candidate must be dedicated to fulfilling the mission of the church in harmony with God’s Holy Word.


JOB DESCRIPTION

The pastor is responsible to the church to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the biblical revelation, to engage in pastoral care ministries, to provide administrative leadership in all areas of church life and to act as the chief administrator.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


Planning and conduct the worship services, prepare and deliver sermons, lead in observance of ordinances.

Conducting bible-centered teaching by way of weekly bible studies and other related venues for teaching the Word of God.

Leading in planning, executing and evaluating comprehensive church programs of worship, education, evangelism, missions and ministries for all ages.

Guiding the ministry of the Deacons by equipping them for effective spiritual leadership of the church.

Providing leadership and work cooperatively with church officers, ministries, committees and members as they perform their assigned responsibilities.

Enhancing and maintaining an organized Christian Education Program which results in spiritual growth for both church leaders and members.

Acting as moderator of church business meetings.

Displaying a teachable spirit, seeking continuous acquisition of biblical knowledge and their application of today’s life.

Conducting counseling sessions, wedding ceremonies and funeral services.

Cooperating with associational, state and denominational leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern.
