When it comes to an effective youth department some advisors and youth workers are lost. It is imperative that our youth are emphasized as the church of today not tomorrow. They are learning now how to live a Christian live and how to be active in the church to help those who may not know Christ. So, come back periodically and check on more information that will be helpful to you to help grow a youth department.

10 do’s when it comes to the Youth Department

The Do’s

 1.) Teach biblical principles

2.) Allow the youth to choose the programs that they would like to participate in. For Example: Lock-in, service projects: visiting a shelter, Bible bowls, Youth Revival, Praise Dance Ministries, Mime ministries, Choir ministry, Youth Usher Board.

3.) Allow them to choose the colors for Youth Day (it helps them make their own decisions)

4.) Ask the other members of the church to support youth activities.

 5.) Always discipline the youth

6.) Have workshops that will help adults deal with the youth.

7.) Give them praise when praise is due. Announce when they have done well in school, in the community, or in the church.

8.) Allow the youth to have a social outlet (movies, skating, bowling, etc.)

9.) Let them participate in the church services all the way down to layout of the bulletin.

 10.) Inspire, encourage, and uplift.
