Greetings PNBC Southwest Region Family.

2 We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers.

3 We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

I Thessalonians 1:2-3 (NIV)

Giving honor to our PNBC Parent Body President Dr. Timothy Stewart, his Wife Sharon & Family, PNBC 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents, his entire Cabinet, General Secretary Dr. A. Wayne Johnson and the Headquarters Staff.

Certainly to the SWR 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents, Region Pastors, all Elected Officers, Department Heads, and Appointees.

I am so excited to welcome you to join us as we celebrate and honor the great legacy of the Southwest Region in our 50th Annual Session.  I am thankful to God for positioning me for such a time as this and I thank you for entrusting to lead the Southwest Region.

I am beyond excited to preside over my 1st Annual Session since becoming your Vice President-At-Large at our 48th Annual Session in June, 2019 in Long Beach, California.  I regret that we did not meet in 2020 I am certain that you will appreciate our double effort to make up for 2020.  The lingering presence of COVID-19 has continued to hinder our ability to gather in-person but Glory Be to God, better days are coming and it is my sincere prayer that in 2022 we will gather in-person again.

The Southwest Region has come from great beginnings to new frontiers as God has used the COVID-19 Epidemic to lead us, push us and pull us to new heights and is leading us to better than normal experiences therefore we are not looking for a “back to normal” experience.

A full week of programming is scheduled starting Sunday, June 27th and will end with Virtual Communion and parting message.  I am asking you to catch as much as you can.  We wanted to include as much and as many people as possible.

Our Congress has an outstanding curriculum and slate of Instructors and the Departments have worked diligently to make the best of this virtual experience.  I am certain that you will be encouraged and inspired with relevant programming as all of our sessions will have responsible preaching.

We are walking with our PNBC President Dr. Timothy Stewart in his Theme Scripture for 2020-21 is “MAXIMIZING OUR POTENTIAL” Philippians 4:13  “I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME.”  New Revised Standard Version.

Our Sub-Theme and Scripture are “God Is Doing A New Thing” Isaiah 43:18-19

The Bible says in Isaiah 43:18-19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.  See, I am doing a new thing!  I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”  This text of Scripture is a fascinating and instructive stitch between Isaiah 43:16-17 and Isaiah 43:18-19 because in Isaiah 43:16-17 Israel is told to look to the past by remembering the great things God did for them at the Red Sea.  But in Isaiah 43:18, they are told, “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old.”

This shows the Southwest Region that there is a sense in which we must remember the past 50 years, in terms of God’s great work on behalf of the Southwest Region.  Yes, there is also a sense in which we must forsake and forget the past, with all its discouragement and defeat, and move on to what God has for us in the future.  “Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth, shall you not know it?”  We have new leaders, new names, new faces, new churches, and new voices.  We shall not make the mistake of dwelling on the past to the point that we fail to see the new thing wants to do in the Southwest Region but we will celebrate our 50 Years as the PNBC Southwest Region.

I have endeavored to maximize our potential through several new churches that have officially joined the Southwest Region and another group that have not yet officially joined but are “Friends of the Southwest Region.”  We are maximizing our potential by hosting 60+ weeks of Conference Call to Prayer where we have integrated Leaders and Officers from the PNBC Parent Body and also integrated Pastors, Ministers, and laypersons as Prayer Leaders.  We have hosted meetings and collaborated with executive leaders, regional departments and regional appointees.  We are now accessible on line by the creation of our PNBC Southwest Region Facebook Page and our Southwest Region Website is about to go online as we continue to MAXIMIZE OUR POTENTIAL.

In closing, I want to thank you for your many prayers, participation, support and words of encouragement as we approach our 50th Annual Session.  Please continue to pray for the Lord’s favor on our 50th Annual Session.

I am humbled and eternally grateful for your continued support.

In His Service,

For His Glory!
