Mother Jessie W. Jordan
My Dear Progressive Sister:
Regretfully, we announced the passing and home-going of another Progressive sister, Mother Jessie W. Jordan (Oklahoma City, OK), affectionately known as “Mama J,” on January 21, 2020.
“Mama J” was an active and supporting member of the Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc., Women’s Department until her health challenges prevented her from regular attending our annual meetings.
While active, she was a member of the Arts & Crafts Unit, using her hands to make items that we could display and sale to meet some of our financial obligations as a Unit.
“Mama J” lived to see many changes along life’s way. At 105 years young, the Lord allowed her to take her eternal rest from earthly labor to receiving her eternal reward. We loved her, but God loved her best. Our prayers are extended to her loved ones. May the peace of God be with you.
Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m., February 1, 2020 at Faith Memorial Baptist Church, Dr. John People, Pastor, 3117 N. Kelley Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73111, 405.427.6092.
