Reverend Dr. Thomas H. Peoples, Jr.

Dear Progressive family:

One of our great Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc. pastors has gone home to rest on Friday, June 7, 2019.

Reverend Dr. Thomas H. Peoples, Jr., Pastor of the Historic Pleasant Green Baptist Church of Lexington, KY, Former Dean and President of the Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc. Congress of Christian Education passed away today in Lexington, KY surrounded by his wife, Ms. Delma Louise Bennett Peoples, (active musician in our convention and Women’s Department), our beloved first vice president, Dr. David Peoples and his wife, brothers, sister and family members.

Homegoing Celebrations are as follows:

Visitation will be at the Historic Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church located at 540 West Maxwell Street, Lexington, KY on Monday, June 17, 2019 from 12 PM to 3 PM and 4 PM to 8 PM. A Masonic Service will be held at the church on Monday beginning at 3 PM.

There will also be visitation at Heritage Hall East Hall located at 430 W. Vine, Lexington, KY on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM followed by a Celebration of Dr. Peoples’ life beginning at 11 AM.

The Reverend Dr. Thomas H. Peoples, Jr. will be laid to rest following the service on Tuesday at The Lexington Cemetery.
